Definition. Parallel keys are major and minor keys that share the same keynote. G major and G minor are parallel keys, as are F # major and F # minor, etc. (Not to be confused with relative keys.) So, the D minor scale could be interpreted as D Major with a flattened third, sixth, and seventh.
Sorted by: 5. You can try to use chords that are common to both keys, and re-interpret their function. For your example (A minor and B minor), the common triads are D, Em, E, and G (note that in minor both the 6th and the 7th scale degree can be either minor or major). Also note that a ii-V progression always leads nicely to the I chord.
By Jade Bultitude. Last Update: January 14, 2023. The C Minor scale is a 7 note scale that uses the following notes: C, D, Eb, F, G, Ab and Bb. The scale is usually written as starting and ending on C and it can be repeating at higher or lower octaves. C Minor is a diatonic scale, which means that it is in a key, in this case the key of C Minor! All Natural Minor scales follow a specific pattern of tones and semitones (steps and half steps). The tone pattern is: Tone, Semitone, Tone, Tone, Semitone, Tone, Tone. If we take the start at a C and follow the pattern we will get the C Natural Minor Scale. To create the E Natural Minor scale, follow the tone/semitone pattern starting on the C5Jo3n.
